Who We Are
Welcome to Red Knights NZ11 - Ōtautahi Chapter, the newest chapter in Region 8, proudly located in the stunning Canterbury area in the South Island of New Zealand. We are part of the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club (RKMC), a worldwide brotherhood and sisterhood of firefighters, emergency responders, and their families who share a passion for motorcycles and community service.

Here in New Zealand, we are one of 11 chapters nationwide, with 5 chapters in the South Island — two of which are proudly located in Canterbury.

NZ11 – Ōtautahi is based in Cheviot, but we cover the wider Christchurch & Canterbury regions, with members scattered far and wide!

Our chapter is made up of current and former firefighters, their families, and supporters who come together to ride, socialize, and give back to the communities we serve. Whether you're on two wheels or supporting from the sidelines, the Red Knights welcome those who share our values of camaraderie, respect, and community involvement.

What We Stand For
At NZ11, we believe that being a Red Knight is about more than just riding—it’s about brotherhood, sisterhood, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Our mission is to:

• Ride together – Exploring the stunning roads of New Zealand, from mountain passes to coastal highways.

• Support one another – We’re more than just a motorcycle club; we’re a family.

• Give back – We engage in charitable events, fundraising, and community support to help those in need.

• Represent the fire service – Upholding the values of the firefighting community in everything we do.

Our Rides & Events
We organize regular group rides, social meetups, and community events throughout the year. From day trips and overnight adventures to charity fundraisers and station visits, there’s always something happening. We’re not about a drinking culture—we’re here to enjoy the ride, the people, and the experiences.

As a Canterbury-based chapter, we have members scattered throughout the region, which means there’s always someone keen to get out for a ride.

Our Chapter Patch
NZ11’s chapter patch represents the heart of Ōtautahi (Christchurch) and the South Island. Instead of the traditional Red Knights cathedral imagery, our patch features mountains, ferns, and fire—a tribute to the landscapes we ride through and the challenges we face as firefighters.
